Chatham 4
Thursday, August 23rd
Moncton opened the scoring with three runs in the third inning and never looked back, as they went
on to defeat the Ironmen 11-4 in the first game of the league semi-finals. Steve Desjardins was the winning pitcher,
scattering four hits and six walks in six innings of work. Luc Daigle surrendered two runs in mop-up duty in the seventh.
Matt Jenkins suffered the loss for the visitors, working into the fifth inning, giving up seven runs, five of which were
earned. Gary Traer and Brian St. Coeur pitching in relief.
Alex Hurley led the Moncton offence with three singles. Moncton scored three runs in the third inning, two in the
fourth, and six in the fifth inning.
Darren Hardy provided all of Chatham's offence, with a two-run double in the fifth inning, and a two-run single in the
seventh. Hardy finished with three singles on the night. Tom Burns, Nick Hardy, Tyson Waye and Alan Hilchie all
singled once.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Friday night in Chatham at 7:30pm. Game 3 will be held Sunday night in Moncton
at 7:00pm.
Halifax 4 Chatham 0
Friday, August 17th
Craig Monroe silenced the Ironmen bats, tossing a tidy five-hit shutout, striking out one batter.
Craig Cooper provided the big blow for the Canadians, knocking a three-run homer to right field off Ironmen starter Mike Lewis.
Halifax scored their first run in the first inning, courtesy of a wild pitch from Lewis.
Lewis, with his first start since June, was solid in defeat, tossing five innings, giving up six hits and walking one
batter. Matt Jenkins tossed two perfect innings of relief.
Darren Hardy led the Ironmen at the plate with a pair of singles. Tom Burns chipped in with a double, while Tyson
Waye and Jon Saunders each singled once.
Chatham will now face off against the Moncton Mets in a best-of-seven league semifinal. The series will begin in
Moncton late next week.
Chatham 5 Saint John 4
Sunday, August 5th
Tyson Waye's ninth inning single scored Tom Burns to give the Ironmen a come from behind 5-4 victory
over the visiting Saint John Alpines. The win improves the Ironmen's record to 16-12, moving them a half game behind
the second-place Moncton Mets.
With the Ironmen trailing Saint John 4-1, the Ironmen scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning, courtesy of a sacrifice
fly from Jon Saunders, and a Ryan Barry groundout. Matt Jenkins knotted the scored at 4-4 when he led off the sixth
inning with a solo home run off Alpines starter Shaun O'Toole.
Jason Dickson worked out of early trouble and got stronger as the game went on, going the distance for his sixth victory
of the season. Dickson struck out six batters and yielded seven hits.
Waye singled three times to lead the Ironmen hitting parade. Nick Hardy singled and doubled, and Tom Burns singled
twice, as the Ironmen continued to get production out of the top of their order. Saunders knocked in a run with a single
in the first inning, and Darren Hardy and Barry notched solo singles.
O'Toole suffered the loss for Saint John, throwing a complete-game, giving up eleven hits while striking out seven Ironmen.
Josh Ferguson drove in two runs with a pair of singles.
Chatham 4 Moncton 0
Thursday, August 2nd
Chatham scored all four of their runs in the first inning, chasing Mets starter Stewart Langille,
en route to a shutout victory, keeping their hopes for second place alive. All of the Ironmen damage came with two outs,
when Matt Jenkins and Alan Hilchie each knocked two-run singles to put the Ironmen ahead to stay. Other Ironmen hitters
included Tyson Waye with two singles, Jon Saunders with a double, and Ryan Barry with a single.
Matt Jenkins tossed the complete-game shutout, for his league-leading seventh victory of the season. Jenkins scattered
seven hits and struck out six Mets. Langille was relieved by Steve Desjardins, who tossed five and one-third innings
of scoreless relief.
The Ironmen now sit with a record of 15-12, and host Saint John and Halifax in their final two league games this weekend.
Chatham 3 Moncton 2
Tuesday, July 31st
The Ironmen scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, and received a strong pitching performance
from Jason Dickson to score a 3-2 victory over the Moncton Mets, keeping their second-place hopes alive. Dickson
scattered eights hits to pick up the complete-game victory.
With the Ironmen leading 3-2 in the bottom half of the seventh, the Mets loaded the bases with no outs against Dickson.
However, the right-hander struck out Nathan Dempster, and induced Pat Godin to ground into a 4-6-3 double play to end the
rally.
With the Ironmen trailing 2-1 in the sixth inning, leftfielder Alan Hilchie delivered a clutch two-out single to score
Nick Hardy, who had led off the inning with a single. In the seventh inning, Andrew Burns led off with a single
to left, and advanced to second on Mark Fournier's throwing error. After Gary Traer advanced Burns to third with a groundout,
Kevin Bowes dropped a squeeze bunt to put the Ironmen ahead to stay.
Nick and Darren Hardy each singled twice, Jon Saunders doubled, and Ryan Barry singled to complete the Ironmen hitting
attack.
Jacques Boucher, in relief of starter Luc Daigle, picked up the loss. Serge Vautour notched a solo homerun in a
losing cause.
The two teams will meet again Thursday night at Ironmen Field at 7:30pm. The Ironmen need a win to remain in the
hunt for second place.
Fredericton 3 Chatham 1
Sunday, July 29th
Derek Wilson's home run to lead off the sixth inning broke a scoreless tie as the Fredericton Royals
went on to down the Ironmen 3-1. Heading into the sixth inning, Fredericton starter Josh Collins and Ironmen starter
Gary Traer had allowed only two hits each. Collins picked up the victory, finishing with six strikeouts while giving
up three hits. Traer was the hard-luck loser, charged with three runs on five hits, before leaving with no outs in the
sixth inning.
Following Wilson's home run, Dave Barr doubled, and came around to score on a Jody Peterson single. After
Traer exited, Peterson would come around to score when Matt Stewart doubled off Ironmen reliever Ryan Barry.
Chatham scored their lone run in the seventh inning when Matt Jenkins' singled home Darren Hardy. Barry and Jon
Saunders added the other Ironmen singles.
The loss drops Chatham's record to 13-12, three games behind second-place Moncton. Fredericton improves to 22-5.
The last week in the schedule is a busy one for the Ironmen. They travel to Moncton to face the Mets Tuesday night in
a 7:30pm start. The two teams will meet again Thursday night at 7:30pm in Chatham. Saturday afternoon, Chatham
will host Halifax in the last interlocking game between the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia senior leagues. Sunday, Chatham
will host Saint John in their regular season finale. Both weekend games are 2:00pm starts.

Saturday, July 28th
Darren Hardy chucked a complete-game four-hitter to lead the Ironmen
to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Chevys. Hardy struck out eight in his best start of the season. The Ironmen
broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fifth inning.
The Ironmen opened the scoring in the first inning when Jon Saunders
scored Tom Burns with a sacrifice fly. After Summerside responded with a solo run in the third inning, Chatham scored
three runs in the fifth inning to ice the victory. Andrew Burns' two-run single highlighted the fifth inning.
Gary Traer followed Burns with an RBI single to cap the scoring. Jon Saunders and Kevin Bowes added singles in
a winning cause.
Chatham's record now sits at 13-11, to sit third in league standings. Summerside drops to 1-25.
Saint John 4 Chatham 1
Thursday, July 26th
Saint John scored four runs in the third inning, highlighted by a
three-run triple by Keith Bishop to down the Ironmen 4-1. The Alpines only managed three hits off Ironmen starter
Matt Jenkins, all of which came in the fateful third inning, but it proved to be enough for winning pitcher Tim Moore.
Moore gave up seven hits and struck out four batters, for the complete game victory.
Tom Burns provided the only offence for the visitors, blasting a solo homerun in
the fifth inning. Burns also added a single. Alan Hilchie singled twice, and Andrew Burns, Darren Hardy and Ryan
Barry all singled once in a losing cause.
The Ironmen return home for a pair of weekend games. On Saturday afternoon,
the Ironmen will entertain the Summerside Chevys in a 2:00pm start. Sunday night, Chatham faces the Fredericton Royals
in their last meeting of the year. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30pm.

Thursday, July 26th
Sherman Yeo tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Alpines to a 4-0
victory in the opening game of the twinbill. Yeo struck out eleven Ironmen and walked four, to pick up his third victory
of the year.
Ironmen starter Jason Dickson suffered the loss, yielding three of
the four runs in the first inning. Dickson got stronger as the game continued, finishing with nine strikeouts.
The Ironmen loaded the bases in the top half of the seventh inning,
but Yeo buckled down to strike out Tom Burns and Matt Jenkins to end the rally. Ryan Barry and Gary Traer picked up
the lone singles for the Ironmen.
Moncton 4 Chatham 0
Thursday, July 19th
The visiting Moncton Mets blanked the Chatham Boston Pizza Ironmen
4-0 on Thursday in New Brunswick Senior Baseball League action. The win moves moncton into a second place tie with the
Ironmen as both teams are 12-9.
Steve Desjardins went the distance for the shut-out win, scattering three hits
with five walks and five strikeouts. Ironmen starter Jason Dickson went five innings for the loss
allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits, a walk and six strikeouts. Ryan Barry tossed two innings in relief
allowing a hit and striking out three.
Dickson pitched well enough to win, but the Ironmen played sloppily behind him
committing five errors.
Alex Hurley had two singles for the Mets, while Phil Brown and Mike Ivey had a
single and RBI each. Greg Hickox and Craig Betts had a single each. Pat Godin had a RBI.
Darren Hardy bhad two singles for the Ironmen and Tyson Waye had one.
Moncton scored a pair in the second and added two more in the fifth.

Monday, July 2nd
Ryan Barry's three-run home run highlighted a five-run sixth inning
as the Ironmen defeated Summerside 8-3. With one out, Jon Saunders drove in the fourth run with a ground ball to third
base, and reached on Brad Lawson's throwing error. Andrew Burns followed with an RBI single, before Barry put the game
out of reach with his second homer of the season.
Matt Jenkins upped his record to 4-0 with a complete-game victory, yielding
seven hits and striking out seven. Chevys veteran Blair Creelman took the loss, giving up four runs in five innings
of work.
Tyson Waye ripped an RBI double in the first inning to open the scoring, before
Nial Hughes put Summerside ahead with a two-run double in the third inning. Saunders, Gary Traer and Jason Dickson also
singled for the Ironmen.
The victory improves the Ironmen record to 10-4. They will travel to
Fredericton Friday night to face the league-leading Royals, before returning home to host the Saint John Alpines in a doubleheader
Saturday, with the first game scheduled for 6:00pm.
Chatham 16 Summerside 4
Saturday, June 30th
Tom Burns belted a leadoff home run and the Ironmen never looked
back, trouncing the Chevys 16-4. The Ironmen scored five runs in the first inning to provide starter Darren Hardy with
all the run support he would need. Burns also added two singles to increase his league-best batting average to .525.
Hardy was sharp in his first start of the year, giving up seven hits and two earned
runs in six innings, before handing the ball to Sean Hannah in the seventh. Tyrell Hughes took the loss, giving up twelve
runs in two innings of work.
In total, the Ironmen belted sixteen hits. Ryan Barry doubled and tripled,
Nick Hardy singled three times, Tyson Waye, Jon Saunders, and David Whelan each singled twice, and Kevin Bowes and Brian St.
Coeur each singled once. Sean Corcoran homered and added two singles in a losing cause.
Chatham 6 Summerside 5
Saturday, June 30th
The Ironmen overcame a 5-1 deficit in the sixth inning to roar back
and defeat the hometown Chevys 6-5. The Ironmen scored 3 runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 5-4, before
plating two more runs in the seventh inning, including Darren Hardy's sacrifice fly to score Andrew Burns with the winning
run.
Jason Dickson picked up his fourth victory of the season, scattering seven hits
over seven innings, with seven strikeouts. Steve MacLean suffered the loss for Summerside, yielding eight hits in the
full seven innings.
Tom Burns and Tyson Waye each doubled and singled for the victors, while Nick Hardy,
Andrew Burns, Darren Hardy and David Whelan each singled once.
Chatham 13 Truro 3
Sunday, June 24th
The Ironmen continued to swing the hot sticks as they pounded the
Truro Bearcats 13-3. Tom Burns belted three hits, including a mammoth two-run homer to right field, to lead the Ironmen
hitting barrage. Matt Jenkins picked up the pitching victory, giving up three earned runs on six hits. Sean Hannah
pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Other big blows for the Ironmen were provided by Alan Hilchie, who
knocked a three-run homer and an RBI single. Two more Ironmen recorded multi-hit games. Tyson
Waye singled and doubled, and Andrew Burns singled twice. Jon Saunders, Ryan Barry, Darren Hardy, and
Gary Traer all singled to round out the attack.
John Chapman suffered the loss for the Bearcats, giving
up eight hits over four innings. Joe MacPherson singled and homered in a losing cause.
The Ironmen's record now stands at 7-4, and will host Fredericton Thursday
evening at 7:30pm at Ironmen Field.
Chatham 10 Sydney 3
Saturday, June 23rd
Chatham scored ten runs in the first two innings en route to a 10-3
trouncing of Sydney. Jason Dickson picked up the victory for the Ironmen, giving up three runs on six hits, while striking
out eight in seven innings. Dave Denney recorded the loss for Sydney, giving up ten runs, five earned over two innings.
Matt Jenkins knocked a three-run homer in the second inning, and
added a single to lead the Ironmen attack. Tyson Waye singled twice and drove in three runs, including a two-run single
in the first inning to tie the score at two. Andrew Burns singled and doubled, driving in two runs. Nick Hardy
doubled, and Tom Burns and Alan Hilchie each singled to round out the hitting parade. Beau Chiasson homered for the
Sooners.
The Ironmen's record improves to 6-4. Their night game with
Halifax was cancelled, and will be made up at a later date.
Chatham 3 Moncton 1
Sunday, June 17th
A three-run sixth inning broke open a pitcher's duel as the Ironmen
defeated the Mets 3-1. Matt Jenkins tossed a complete-game victory for Chatham, scattering four hits and one walk,
while striking out five. Steve Aube was solid in defeat for the Mets, giving up eight hits in six innings of work.
In the sixth inning, Kevin Bowes led off with a single, before advancing
to second on Tom Burns' walk. Nick Hardy laid down a perfect bunt single to load the bases. Ryan Barry singled
to plate Bowes, which was followed by Darren Hardy's sacrifice fly to score Burns. Jon Saunders finished the scoring
for the victors when his double scored Hardy.
Moncton would score one run in the home half of the sixth when Pat
Godin doubled home Nathan Dempster, but Jenkins shut the door from there.
Chatham's record now stands at 5-4, and will host the Nova Scotia
teams in the first weekend of Interleague play between the NBSBL and the NSSBL.
Fredericton 8 Chatham 1
Friday, June 15th
Fredericton broke a 1-1 ball game wide open with a seven-run sixth
inning to down the visiting Ironmen 8-1. Matt Stewart's two-run home run off of Ironmen starter Mike Lewis was the decisive
blow, giving the Royals the lead they would not relinquish. Lewis, who was charged with giving up six runs on eleven
hits, was relieved by Brian St. Coeur and Sean Hannah.
The Ironmen scored their only run in the top half of the fourth inning. After
Jon Saunders was hit by a pitch, Andrew Burns doubled, moving Saunders to third. Gary Traer then plated Saunders with
a sacrifice fly to center field. Fredericton tied the game up in the home half of the inning on Jody Peterson's solo
home run. The Ironmen threatened in the sixth inning when Darren Hardy was thrown out at home plate attempting to score
on Ryan Barry's single.
Dan Murphy picked up the complete game victory for the Royals, giving up three
hits and striking out nine. Phil Merrill singled and doubled for the victors.
The loss evens the Ironmen record at 4-4, while Fredericton improves to a league-best
9-1.
Chatham 7 Moncton 1
Thursday, June 14th
Darren Hardy's two-run home run in the bottom half of the first inning provided
Jason Dickson will all the run support he would need as the Ironmen downed the Mets 7-1. Dickson yielded four hits and
struck out six to improve his record to 2-0.
Tom Burns continued to swing the hot stick for the home side, with two singles
and a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Jon Saunders singled twice and drove in two runs, and Nick Hardy, Ryan
Barry, Alan Hilchie, and Andrew Burns all singled.
Luc Daigle suffered the loss, giving up five earned runs and eight hits before
handing the ball to Jacques Boucher in the fourth inning. Pat Godin provided all of the Mets' offence, notching a solo
home run in the second inning.
The win improves the Ironmen record to 4-3, and the Mets now stand at 6-3.
The Ironmen travel to Fredericton Friday night to take on the league-leading Royals.

Sunday, June 10th
Moncton used an eight-run fourth inning to down the visiting Ironmen
10-1. Ironmen starter Mike Lewis suffered the loss, yielding five runs on seven hits, before being ejected in the fourth
inning. Lewis, who was the victim of some shaky Ironmen defence, was ejected after disputing Greg Hickox' controversial
two-run double. Rookie Ryan Barry relieved Lewis, and gave up four runs on six hits over three innings.
Moncton opened the scoring in the first inning when Mike Ivey scored import Alex
Hurley with an RBI double. Chatham answered in the second inning when Matt Jenkins' single plated Andrew Burns.
Steve Desjardins picked up the pitching victory for the Mets, giving up three hits
and walking five Ironmen over six innings. Pat Godin drove in three runs for Moncton. Tom Burns singled twice
for Chatham.
The two teams will meet again Thursday night in Chatham in a 7:30pm start at Ironmen

Chatham 2 Saint John 1
Sunday, June 10th
Chatham got a strong pitching performance from Matt Jenkins and some
timely hitting to down the Saint John Alpines 2-1. Jenkins tossed a complete-game seven hitter for his first victory
of the year. He struck out eight Alpines and walked two. Andrew Burns provided the big blow for the victors, driving
a two-run homerun to left field off of Alpine ace Sherman Yeo in the fifth inning. Yeo was the hard-luck loser,
giving up five hits in seven innings of work.
The scoring opened in the first inning when Neil Jeffrey's single plated Mike King,
who opened the game with a double. The Ironmen remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Ryan Barry led off with
a double to right-centerfield, and scored two batters later on Burns' blast. Kevin Bowes, Tyson Waye and Jon Saunders
also singled for the Ironmen.
Chatham 13 Summerside 0
Thursday, June 7th
At Ironmen Field, Jon Saunders belted a first-inning grand slam to
lead the Ironmen to a 13-0 win over the visiting Chevys. Saunders added a double and a single, and finished with seven
runs batted in. Jason Dickson picked up the victory in his first start of the season, yielding only two hits and one
walk in five innings, while striking out six. Darren Hardy threw the final two innings for the victors, giving up one
hit and striking out two.
For the second game in a row, every hitter in the Ironmen lineup recorded a hit.
Hardy added a fourth inning solo homer, and Tom Burns, Tyson Waye, Ryan Barry and Alan Hilchie all singled twice.
Other Ironmen hitters were Andrew Burns with a double, and Matt Jenkins and Kevin Bowes with a single each.
The 2-2 Boston Pizza Ironmen will hit the road Sunday for a pair of games.
They will begin in Saint John for a 1:00pm start versus the Alpines, before travelling to Moncton to face the Mets in a 7:00pm
start. The Ironmen - Mets game will be televised on Rogers Television.
Chatham 9 Summerside 3
Friday, June 1st
The Ironmen scored seven runs in the first two innings to pace them
to a 9-3 victory over the hometown Summerside Chevys for their first victory of the year. Mike Lewis was strong on the
mound, scattering five hits while striking out twelve. Craig Noonan suffered the loss for the Chevys, failing to record
an out in the second inning.
Every hitter in the Ironmen lineup recorded a hit, highlighted by Nick Hardy who
roped two doubles and two singles, while driving in three runs. Leadoff hitter Tom Burns added a double and two singles,
with two runs batted in. Ryan Barry singled and added a towering homerun in the fourth inning. Rounding out the
Ironmen attack were Andrew Burns and Timmy Bowes with two singles each, Tyson Waye with a two-run double, and
Darren Hardy, Jon Saunders, and Corey Cormier with singles.
The two teams will meet again in Chatham Thursday night in a 7:30pm start.
Fredericton 9 Chatham 6
Friday, May 25th
Fredericton used a six run fifth inning to propel them to a 9-6 victory
over the Ironmen, their second in as many nights. Jon Burns notched the win for Fredericton, scattering five hits over
four innings.
Corey Stairs' three-run double highlighted the fifth inning for the home side,
chasing Ironmen starter Jean-Francois Neveu. Brian St. Coeur provided scoreless relief for the Ironmen.
Fredericton jumped out to an early lead when Dave Barr knocked a two-run homer
to right. The Ironmen responded in the top of the second inning when Andrew Burns' double scored Darren Hardy.
The Royals added a run in the third inning, before breaking the game open in the fateful fifth.
The Ironmen made things interesting late, scoring five runs in the final two innings
off of Fredericton relievers Joel Violette and Ryan Corey.
Rookie Ryan Barry paced the Ironmen with three singles, and Tom Burns, Hardy and
Tyson Waye also singled for the visitors, who outhit the Royals 7-6.
The Ironmen will look to get their first win of the season when they travel to
Summerside Friday night to take on the expansion Chevys.
Fredericton 4 Chatham

Thursday, May 24th
In a rematch of last season's final, Fredericton scored three runs in the fateful
fifth inning en route to a 4-1 victory over the Ironmen. Josh Collins tossed a complete game four-hitter for the club's
first win of the season. Mike Lewis was strong in defeat, surrending three earned runs before exiting in the fifth inning.
Chris Sorenson opened the scoring with a solo homerun in the fourth inning, before
the Royals struck for three more runs in the fifth inning. Ironmen reliever Matt Jenkins walked Dave Barr with the bases
loaded, before Jody Peterson's two run single plated two more.
Tyson Waye, Alan Hilchie, Darren Hardy and Gary Traer all singled off of Collins.
The Ironmen loaded the bases in the sixth and the seventh innings, but scored their only run when Jon Saunders was hit with
a pitch, which scored Nick Hardy.
The two teams will meet again Friday night at Royals Field in a 7:30pm start.
The Ironmen's next home game will be Thursday, June 7th when they host the expansion Summerside Chevy's.
